PETER REACHES THE STARS!
Peter and the Starcatcher is a spectacular Tony Award-winning theatrical experience. Complete with a stellar Australian cast, wonderful original songs, lighting and sets and 90 puppets, this production captivates audiences of all ages.
Based on the story of Peter Pan, the play by Rick Elice is inspired by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s novel. In prequel style, the story portrays how Peter Pan, Captain Hook and co came to be as we know them now. Opening in Broadway in 2012 this is the Australian premiere.
The shows real gem is the sensational cast that bring so much life, action and hilarity to the story. While the entire ensemble is to be commended stand out performances included Olivia Deeble as Molly for her enthusiasm and acrobatics, Otis Dhanji as Peter for his vulnerability, Peter Helliar for his humerous portrayal of Smee and Colin Lane’s brilliant comic timing and adlibbing that even brought laughs from his own cast members!
The live musicians onstage added to the magic.
Peter and the Starcatcher runs at the Playhouse at Queensland Performing Arts Complex from now until April 6.
